The Bluest Eye is the first work of the American black writer Toni Morrison. This novel tells the miserable fate of a black girl Pecola who eagerly desires to have the bluest eyes as the whites do. Toni Morrison describes the blacks#8217; different fates and their tragic life which reveals the black#8217;s tough survival ways. The thesis is mainly talk about the survival dilemma of the blacks in white culture dominant society. The thesis will analyze the culture conflict between the blacks and the whites which based on the postcolonial perspective to show the devastating social psychology efforts to blacks. With the white aesthetic standard, the blacks choose to discard black culture and regard the blackness as ugliness and lost themselves. People are lack of love and helpfulness to each other. All these lead to Pecola#8217;s tragic fate. Comparing with the Breedloves#8217; discarding of black tradition , the Macteers fight with the reality and live through the white dominant society. According to the thesis, we can know the blacks#8217; culture collision, survival dilemma, and research the blacks#8217; different survival ways. The thesis also help people know more about tradition and culture of the Blacks.

In the An Analysis of Pecola#8217; s Tragic Fate in The Bluest Eye, Zhou Yehan said #8220;The major and determinant factor that results in Pecola#8217; s tragedy is the powerful and dominant white culture. America is a society that is mainly made up of whites, especially the white Anglo-Saxons. The culture that the whites hold tightly becomes the mainstream culture. The other peoples are in a subdued position. As a consequence of the historical issues, the blacks are greatly marginalized by the mainstream culture#8221;.

In the An Analysis of the Black#8217;s Tragedy in The Bluest Eye, Chen Yanqiong and Wang Xi said #8220;With the powerful influence of white mass media, school education and the community culture, the black of every level in American society have long held the standard of value that white color and the blue eyes are beautiful, the color of black is ugly. Such kind of cultural erosion and aesthetic alienation has brought the black into a world of endless misery.
