Family education is the elementary education for children. Many serious problems have appeared in our education system in recent years. Almost everyone has realized the importance of solving these problems and many people have presented a lot of valuable suggestions. Basing on the study of comparing the differences between American family education and Chinese family education, we can improve Chinese education system. We should be sensible enough to absorb its essence and resist its dark side.

3. 国内外研究现状
Looking back on the comparative study of family education between China and America, we find that many researchers study this topic from the following aspects: the concepts of education, methods of education, the purpose of education, contents of education and family relationships between American family education and Chinese family education. There are many types of family education in the world and each of them shows distinctive features and is closely responsive to its culture. Recently, China''s Urban and Rural Family Education Status has been released. The result shows that 37.82% of Chinese parents do not know the family education methods. They mostly rely on school education and ignore family education. At present, family education has become the biggest weakness of Chinese parents. The famous educator Lu Qin, in her book the children into wealth, she stressed the weakness of Chinese family education and focus on teaching parents how to cultivate children''s sense of responsibility. American Education Association Family Education seminar was held in Beijing recently. This lecture invited Fernandez Professor, engaged in the study of family education; he proposed that communication is a core element in the parent-child relationship in the present situation.
