1. 研究目的与意义

In a new era of computer, #8220;Computer Aided plus#8221; has attracted an increasing attention and has been put into extensive use. Computer Aided Translation, in particular, has great advantages in improving the speed and accuracy of translation while doing translation. As CAT evolves deeper and is applied at a larger scale, differences arise in diverse types of texts and specific study, thus should be carried out to extinguish them. The applications of CAT in pragmatic text translation play a vital role in translations. How to better play it to full strength to improve the quality and efficiency in translations of practical texts is crucial to better communications between China and the West. Therefore, it might have great necessity in studying CAT and its applications in pragmatic texts.

2. 研究内容和预期目标

My paper will give a brief introduction of CAT and its applications in pragmatic texts, and try to offer some specific features of CAT in this type of texts. The first part will introduce the history, technology, current situations and process of CAT. Then, the paper will give a brief introduction of pragmatic texts. Finally, the paper will focus on the applications of CAT in practical texts.

3. 国内外研究现状

There have been many researches on the study of CAT made by both Chinese and foreign scholars. However, due to the difficulties arising from cross-cultural communication, studies in application in specific types of texts have lagged behind, and no targeted methods and theories have been put forward. In studies of CAT, several researches on literary texts has been carried out but are still insufficient. That is why the author attempts to make a research on this topic.
