Reading is an important way for people to obtaininformation in today''s society. In the process of language learning, learnersare required to do a lot of reading. It can be said that reading ability is thebasis for learners to develop other language abilities. With the development oflearning strategy research, reading strategy research has attracted more andmore attention. Reading strategies refer to the skills and methods of reading.They are the subjective selective and controlled behaviors taken by the readersin order to achieve the desired purpose. Reading strategies not only help toimprove the reading effect, but also help to guide learners to explore theirown reading and learning methods, and to enhance their ability to learnindependently and autonomously.
2. 研究内容和预期目标
Theresearch content is the impacts of reading strategies (cognitive strategy/metacognitive strategy) on college students’ performance in tests.
The keyquestion to be solved is which kind of reading strategy college students chooseto use when they are taking tests.
3. 国内外研究现状
Domesticresearch
There are many professorshave studied the influence of reading strategies on reading comprehension. YuPing and Wang Rongyuan (2003) explored the correlation between metacognitiveconsciousness and reading level of senior two students by using quantitativeresearch model, and found that there was a significant positive correlationbetween them. Li Ying (2009) probed into the correlation between strategy andachievement of senior one students. The results showed that there was apositive correlation between the two. The study also found that there was agreat correlation between the different reading strategies and the different frequencyof reading comprehension. Liu Ning (2015) explored the relationship between thechoice of reading strategies and the reading effects of non-professionalundergraduates, which also showed a positive correlation between the two, andpointed out that teachers need to strengthen students'' awareness of usingreading strategies. Emphasis is placed on improving the training ofmetacognition and social affective strategies, and following up on thesituation and effect of reading strategies at different comprehension levels.

I decideto choose college students as research subjects. I will take CET-6 scores and readingscores as the criteria for evaluating college students’ reading performance inexaminations. Research data will be collected by an online questionnaire sentto college students via QQ groups.
Time plan: Select the title of the thesis beforeNovember 10th, 2022. Complete the thesis proposal before December 10th, 2022.Design the questionnaire before January 1st, 2022.
